Great photo! And this is the best about page I have read so far. Raw and honest.
Thanks! I briefly considered writing a florid love story piece but thought…that’s not me and that’s not us. I went into this blogging journey to be honest. It all started here. 🙂

Why, thank you! That is so sweet of you! I truly enjoy your blog as well! Any friend of some e-cards is a friend of mine!
I’m INTP, the absolute opposite of you, that’s interesting.
I’m only 1% both E and J but I truly think I need to retake it now that I am older and wiser. 🙂
The J/P axis is my weakest.
Hello! I nominated you for a Super Sweet Blogging Award! I couldn’t find a contact page, so I left this here. Hope that’s okay! You can see the rules here:
Your boy looks so cute! He’ll turn out just fine with an understanding family who stick up for him, and challenge him when he needs it. A psych mom sounds ideal! 🙂
All those labels are only any good if they’re useful (ie make the child’s life work better) – but I’m sure you know that. Different experts use different labels, but it doesn’t matter if they help. (From 20 yrs of learning about autistic spectrum stuff first about a close friend’s child, then as a teacher, and then with a family member.) Anyway, labels are pretty rubbish really – the similarities between people with the same label are way less than their differences, in my experience.
Oh, and the bit about being chucked out of a creative writing class made me laugh.
Thank you! He has since been diagnosed with “Mixed Expressive-Receptive Language Disorder” and “Articulation Disorder” with further testing needed for “Social Communication Disorder”. 🙂 Such a mouthful! 🙂
But he is a wonderful kid and learns at his own pace. So we just keep working with him and hope for the best! Thank you for taking the time to read and comment!
Glad you’re not a cookie-cutter anything. Keep the wild words coming! 🙂
Thank you! I don’t think I could give it up even if I wanted to! 🙂
Found your blog via PeaceLove Country Music. I love your zaniness! Going through life ya gotta laugh at something….How much wine is lfe in that bottle?
Thanks! Not enough…never enough! 😉
Thank you so much for this blog. I read it from start to finish! Your son has a lot of similarities to my little man.
Thank you! I took a little hiatus so sorry for the delayed response but would love to read or hear more about your little man.
Amber
I love the quote at the top of your blog! Made me laugh in class. Confession: I’ve actually been following you for awhile now, but I haven’t been here much.. But that is going to change. I look forward to discovering more about you and your awesome family!
That’s awesome! Thank you. It’s always nice to meet new people…especially people that appreciate my humor! 😉 Glad to have you on board!
Hi amber,
I was searching info on MERLD (mixed expressive receptive language disorder) which my 4 year old son has, and stumbled on your blog. I see so many similarities for your stories between our sons. Question, does your son fight every possible activity initially, from dressing to eating to fun things? If so, have you found any thing that helps? Behavior is our biggest optical now. Our son says he is “afraid” of EVRYTHING. Just wanted to get your opinion…..
Yes! Yes! And yes! Our sons are similar in age so I assume your days are like ours– full of DRAMA!! He hates everything new, or conversely, obsessively loves it and wants to do it at all hours of the day. 🙂 Does your son have pragmatic language impairment as well? Or just receptive?
By the way, lovely to meet a fellow MERLD mom!
Also, if you wanted to email directly to vent and trade war stories it’s: Amberperea@hotmail.com 🙂
Guess what!!! I am nominating you for the Leibster Award! Go to the link below and follow the instructions!!!
